What is Tipply and how does it work?

Tipply is an NFC-based tipping solution. A customer taps the Tipply Box → Tipply Live opens → they choose a tip → pay in seconds. Merchants and employees receive payouts instantly via Stripe Connect.

Do customers need an app?

No. Tipply is 100% app-free. The customer only taps the box or badge. Compatible with all modern iPhones and Android phones.

Is the hardware included?

Yes. Each plan includes Tipply Boxes and employee badges depending on the subscription. • Pro → 1 Box • Master → 1 Box + 3 badges • Business → 3 Boxes + 10 badges

QUESTION #4

How does the NFC badge for employees work?

Each employee receives a personal NFC badge. When a customer taps it, they are taken directly to that employee’s Tipply Live page. No QR code, no menu, no steps — direct tipping.

How fast are payouts?

Instant. Tips are paid out directly to the connected Stripe account using Stripe Connect Express. Tipply never holds any money — we only collect the application fee.

Are tips taxable?

• Business tips → Count as revenue for the venue (with VAT rules depending on the country). • Employee tips → Personal income, no VAT. Each user receives an exportable yearly summary via their dashboard.

QUESTION #7

Is there a declaration limit for employees?

No. Employees can receive unlimited tips. Tipply does not cap earnings and the State does NOT take anything from the tips — 100% remains for the employee. Declaration is done annually like any service income.

Do tips appear on payslips?

No. Tips go directly to the employee through Stripe and bypass payroll. This avoids complications and ensures real-time payouts.

Do I need a Stripe account to receive payouts?

Yes. Stripe Connect Express is required to activate your Tipply dashboard. It takes 2 minutes to set up and ensures secure payouts.

How many employees can I add?

Unlimited. Add as many as you need. Each employee gets: • Personal dashboard • Personal NFC badge • Personal Stripe account • Personal tipping page

What if my venue has several areas or rooms?

The Business plan includes multiple Tipply Boxes and many employee badges. Perfect for hotels, nightclubs, events or multi-room restaurants.

Does Tipply work offline?

The NFC tap works offline. The payment page still requires mobile internet (4G/5G/WiFi) — exactly like any online payment system.

Is Tipply secure?

Yes, bank-level secure. • Stripe payment infrastructure • No IBAN stored anywhere • RLS database security via Supabase • GDPR-compliant EU servers • Encrypted data Tipply never touches or stores money.

Do customers need to create an account?

No. Customers never create accounts. Tap → Pay → Done.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Merchants and employees can export: • All tips • All payouts • All dates • All beneficiaries CSV exports are available in dashboards.

How do refunds work?

Refunds are handled directly through Stripe. Tipply does not process refunds itself.

Can I customise the tip amounts?

Yes. Tipply offers default buttons (1€, 2€, 5€, 10€) plus a custom amount. The layout is optimised for minimal friction.

Does the LED halo have a purpose?

Yes. The LED instantly reacts to NFC taps with a double-blue flash. It attracts attention and increases tip conversion.

Is Tipply available in multiple languages?

Yes. Tipply Live detects the customer’s country and adapts automatically. If detection fails, the default language is English.
